The KAliente Kappa Alpha chapter of Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority Inc. at Colorado State University was founded on July 24, 1998 at the Sigma Lambda Gamma/Sigma Lambda Beta Convention held in Schaumberg, Illinois. Our chapter was founded by 14 dedicated ladies; Yesenia Mendez, Vanessa Segura, Carmen Ruyle, Marissa Hurtado, Nikki Bowman, Rosa Garcia, Tracy Romero, Amalia Solano, Tonantzin Oceguera, Felicia Guiterrez, Diana Colon, Cheryl Hernandez, Veronica Leyba, and Theresa Alvarez.

In the Spring of 2008 the Kaliente Kappa Alpha chapter was terminated due to academic reasoning and failure to meet national requirements. After the termanination of the chapter four sisters remained on campus and decided to fight for re-establishment. Sully Tun Ake, Brandy Salazar, Leyla Sarper, and Veronica Ronquillo formed an interest group called "Women of Integrity interest group of Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority Inc." This was a group for women who showed great interest and dedication in the reestablishment of the Kappa Alpha chapter at Colorado State University. They truly believed that Kappa Alpha chapter contibuted largely to the community by creating educational programming, showing apperciation of diversity among women, and always supporting the sororitys principles and philanthropies. On December 1, 2012 Las Revivientes was initiated into the colony of the Kappa Alpha chapter. The women who restored our beloved chapter was the Phoenix Founders: Rebecca Estrada, Janelle Ramirez, Martha Alvarez, Claudia Hernandez, Isabel Munoz, Yessenia Valdez, Karla Lerma-Banda, Evelyn Martinez, Denice Chavez, and Breana Martinez!

The KAliente Kappa Alpha chapter was re-established as a chapter May 13, 2014. In the 21 years of our chapter being started we have crossed 108 beautiful ladies into our organization.  As a chapter we have won many awards within the Multicultural Greek Council such as the 2016 Outstanding MGC Organization!
